Job Description:
The Dairy & Frozen Foods Category Manager is responsible for driving sales and profitability in these important and growing Departments.
This will be accomplished through effective sales planning, promotion, negotiation, planning and product assortment recommendations.
This individual will work with the AFB team to help stores drive operational excellence.
Your job responsibilities as the Dairy & Frozen Category Manager include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible and accountable for the achievement of category sales and profit within the category.
Current Ads/Planners Order guides Assist in ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and training in the department.
Develop strong communication and relationships with store management, department management and vendors.
Responsible for all replenishment activity to ensure smooth product flow to all 52
stores.
Responsible for regular monitoring of performance of categories and accomplishing plan objectives.
Maintains high level of store awareness through store visits and communication focused on quality and efficiency for all merchandising disciplines.
Product research and development.
Create profitable programs for Dairy & Frozen departments.
Create planograms for Dairy & Frozen categories and departments.
Work closely with key stakeholders at store level to address DSD issues Successfully and creatively negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best cost of goods and pricing for our customers Working collaboratively with other departments including Marketing, Pricing and Store Owners and Managers Help build equity for ownership in AFB co-op Willing & able to travel to trade events, trade shows etc.
Qualifications for the role include but are not limited to the following:
High School/ GED or higher education required.
Higher Education is preferred.
2-3 years' experience in the field.
Strong Retail store experience and knowledge is a plus.
Strong leadership and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Strong Mathematical skills and analytical skills.
Proficient in all Microsoft programs.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
Self-initiative with a strong sense of urgency and creativity.
Experience in sales and clientele building.
Spanish as a second language is beneficial.
